Overview
The TERO.006 – ARR Methodology was developed by Hdom Consultoria Ambiental to guide the implementation of Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) projects in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses (AFOLU) sector, under the framework of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). Aiming to remove greenhouse gases (GHGs) from the atmosphere, the methodology establishes rigorous technical guidelines that ensure the environmental integrity of projects, generating carbon credits (removal) as the primary asset.
The technical approach promotes the restoration and/or expansion of vegetation cover in eligible areas, including not only forests and other crops but also projects developed in Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) and Legal Reserves (ARL). This is in accordance with Article 46 of Law No. 15.042, enacted on December 11, 2024, which establishes the Brazilian Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System (SBCE). In addition to contributing to climate change mitigation, the methodology fosters sustainable land management, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem service restoration, and social benefits for local communities.
With guidelines based on environmentally responsible practices, the TERO.006 – ARR Methodology reinforces the commitment to sustainability, providing a robust framework for implementing projects that integrate GHG removal with socio-environmental development.
