Overview
TERO.001 – REDD+ aims primarily to generate carbon credits from forest projects through Avoided Planned Deforestation (APD) and increased forest biomass.
This methodology adopts an approach focused on evaluating carbon stocks in Multiple Use Areas, committing to avoiding deforestation throughout the project duration. Additionally, it promotes greenhouse gas (GHG) removal by quantifying biomass increase through afforestation or reforestation (restoration of degraded areas).
Eligible properties include rural areas, both public and private, with natural forests in the Amazon Biome and that include indigenous, quilombola, or traditional communities. For this methodology, in addition to environmental benefits, social benefits are equally prioritized.
