Tero Carbon announces that the public consultation period for the TERO.007 – Agricultural Land Management (ALM) methodology, version 1.0, originally scheduled to close on December 5, 2025, will be extended for an additional 30 days, now ending on January 5, 2026.
This decision reflects the intense technical and institutional agenda surrounding COP 30, which has significantly mobilized actors across the carbon market—including project developers, consultants, researchers, auditors, and public sector representatives. In this context, we consider it essential to extend the consultation period to ensure broad participation from the specialized community and to allow sufficient time for high-quality and technically robust contributions.
Advances in the TERO.007 – ALM Methodology
Launched for public consultation on November 6, 2025, the TERO.007 methodology was developed to meet the growing demand for robust, technically sound frameworks specifically adapted to the Brazilian agricultural context. Its development brings together the expertise of Hdom Consultoria Ambiental, author of methodologies TERO.001 (REDD+), TERO.002 (APD), TERO.003 (Forest Carbon Stock), and TERO.006 (ARR), and the scientific excellence of the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture – University of São Paulo (CENA/USP).
This co-authorship strengthens the technical and scientific foundation of the methodology, reinforcing its credibility and contributing to the consolidation of a national carbon market aligned with leading international best practices.
In addition, the Technical Guideline TC-DC.CER.003 – Carbon Quantification in AFOLU Projects has been updated to version 1.2, featuring the Bayesian Methodology for Carbon Stock Quantification and Certification, enabling more robust and locally adapted estimates for agricultural systems.
Why Participate in the Public Consultation?
Public consultations are a core component of Tero Carbon’s commitment to transparency, collaborative engagement, and technical rigor. Contributions from stakeholders help:
- improve the applicability of the methodology across different agricultural realities;
- ensure alignment with Brazilian legislation, such as Law No. 15.042/2024 and Law No. 14.119/2021, which establish the SBCE;
- reinforce compatibility with international integrity standards, including ICROA and ICAO/CORSIA.
With this extension, we aim to ensure that all interested parties have adequate time to review the document, prepare their input, and participate actively in the consultation.
